Dear anonymous I had already mentioned that Salim was actually a very fair boy in Motherhood itself, in fact fairer than Preetha. It was his hard life that darkened his skin. Honeymoon in Darjeeling takes place after almost 6-8 months after Motherhood, hence during that time living a sheltered life Salim's complexion returned to its original fair state.
